The performance of Cambridgeshire’s top 100 companies will be under the spotlight when the results of the first ever in-depth survey into the county’s business scene is published by Grant Thornton (GT) later this year.
Called Cambridgeshire Ltd, the detailed analysis will be compiled using the latest company accounts available and the results presented at a special event in November.
Many of the county’s top business leaders will attend and notable guest speakers will be announced soon, GT says.
Cambridgeshire Ltd has been launched following the success of a similar annual survey for Suffolk over the past decade and also managed by Grant Thornton.
There is also Essex Ltd, run in partnership with law firm Birkett Long.
Paul Naylor, partner at Grant Thornton Cambridge, said: “Cambridgeshire is internationally renowned for its technology and science cluster but there is so much more to this exciting, entreprenuerial and diverse county, which is the home to many highly successful companies across a variety of sectors.
“The first ever ‘Cambridgeshire Ltd’ survey will provide a detailed insight into the county’s top 100 businesses, offering a valuable picture of the Cambridgeshire business economy.
“It should make very interesting reading.”
The Cambridgeshire Ltd study will analyse details such as operating profit and employment figures, and will include a breakdown of the financial data by sector.
The top 100 companies will be selected based on the postcode of their trading address and turnover levels.
