A boy is fighting for his life after being hit by a bus after his first day at school in a Cambridgeshire village.
The youngster, believed to be 11-years-old, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after the collision happened in Papworth Everard just before 4pm yesterday.
He was getting off a bus when he was in collision with a second bus and fell to the floor, sustaining serious head injuries.
He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted to Ermine Street North in Papworth Everard at 3.46pm to a report of a pedestrian in collision with a bus.
A rapid response car and ambulance attended the scene.
Gary Sanderson, ambulance service spokesman, said: “A young boy was treated and stabilised at the roadside before he was taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further care.”
Magpas Helimedix also attended the scene.
The road was closed both ways at Elm Way.
