A man died when he was hit by a train this morning in St Neots.
The incident occurred shortly before 7.40am this morning and was reported to Cambridgeshire Police as an instant death.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “BTP officers were called to St Neots rail station, Cambridge, on Monday, 14 May following a report of a man being struck by a train.
“BTP and Cambridgeshire Constabulary officers attended the incident which was reported to BTP at 7.40am, and is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
“Paramedics from the East of England Ambulance Service also attended the incident, but the man, believed to be 49-years-old and from Stevenage, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The train involved was the 7.05am Kings Cross to Leeds service.
