Cambridgeshire council workers' top 20 websites revealed

Two of the top 20 websites visited by an under-pressure council’s staff include one for job hunting and another for house moving.

A list of the most visited websites by workers at Cambridgeshire County Council in the past year has been revealed.

The top most visited is the authority’s own intranet internal website followed by Google, Facebook, the council’s own public website, IT technical website AppNexus, the BBC, another internal website, Twitter, Bing, another internal website, Amazon online shopping site and YouTube.

In 13th spot was followed by networking website Linked In.

Cambridge News was next and the only newspaper website in the list. Google Maps, another Facebook link, Lotame data management and house-hunting website Right Move were next and lastly the Rubicon Project for automated advertising was number 20 in the list which was released using freedom of information laws.

The council forked out £76,687 in 2008/9 revamping its websites and has since been dealing with 20 per cent cuts with the loss of jobs since 2010.
