Two Cambridgeshire firms are featured in a league table of Britain’s 100 biggest private companies.
Cambridge-based Marshall Group, and Anglian Water, which has its headquarters at Huntingdon, are on the Sunday Times BDO Top Track 100.
Between them, the two businesses employ 11,600 people, have combined sales of £2.6 billion, and profits of £735 million.
At the Marshall Group, chief executive Robert Marshall – the fourth generation to run the family-owned company – oversaw growth of 12 per cent last year, with sales reaching a record £1.1 billion.
This enabled the car dealer and defence equipment maker to climb six places in the league table to number 41.
Anglian Water is ranked number 29.
