There’s nothing worse than holidaying somewhere and not being able to get around whilst you are there. Public transport in and around Peterborough is generally good but if you really want to make the most of your holiday and visit some of the surrounding towns and cities in your own time you should thing about hiring a car. The famous historic city of Cambridge is about 30 minutes down the A1. Or you can go a bit further and explore some more of Cambridgeshire along the A14, either West towards Huntingdon, or East towards the Suffolk coast. Alternatively you can simply meander around many of the winding country roads and enjoy a pub lunch in one of the fantastic village pubs surrounding Peterborough.
