Description

Camboats is a family run business established in 2004, after realising the need for more accessible opportunities for people of all ages to explore the river Cam and Great Ouse. Rosie is an ideal way to get to know the river, with Rosie you can experience life along the riverbank: See Kingfishers, Swans, Grebes, Geese and Herons daily, Themed trips; just tell us what you would like. About Rosie Rosie is a 50ft open sided narrow boat originally built for the Huddersfield Canal Restoration Society in 1986 by Cammel Laird apprentices. She was named Greater Manchester and worked tirelessly raising money for the Canal charity eventually being sold to Foulridge Canal Cruisers between Burnley and Skipton on the Leeds and Liverpool canal. Her livery was changed from orange to green and red and she became ‘Barden Broomstick’ carrying shoppers from Burnley town to Barden mill shop and back at the weekends. Again she came up for sale and was bought by Liz Sheehan and family as an ideal first boat for Camboats to ply the Cam and Gt Ouse. The family have worked all year to repaint and restore ‘Rosie’ and get all the necessary training and licences to trade on the river between Cambridge and Ely for individuals, families, schools and groups.
