Cambridge Cinema

Visiting Cambridge is fantastic, especially during those long summer days when the sun is out and there is so much to do. But what about during the evening when the sun disappears, or you are unlucky with the weather and you are not sure what to do with yourself?

Thankfully Cambridge cinema is here to save the day. One thing Cambridge is not short of is somewhere to go in the rain. There are two large multi screen cinemas within easy reach of the town centre. The older of the two, the VUE cinema can be found on the 4th floor of the Grafton shopping centre and is an excellent option if you have had a lazy day shopping and just want to finish the day off with a good movie. The VUE also has the advantage of being next door to a fast food court and a wonderful pizza restaurant if you fancy something more intimate before or after your meal.

The Cineworld is fairly new addition to the town and is a just outside the town centre on the Cambridge Leisure park. This has the advantage of being next two a number of popular American style restaurants and a state of the art bowling alley. So whereas the VUE is great for shopping, the Cineworld is probably a better option if you are travelling with the children and want to make it a fun day out with bowling, burgers and movies all within walking distance!

Both cinemas show all the latest releases and the normal age restrictions apply. In the UK, a PG certificate means that a minor must be accompanied by an adult to gain access.

A full explanation of the UK cinema classifications can be found at the top right of this page http://www.bbfc.co.uk/.

As well as visiting a commercial Cambridge cinema there are a number of smaller cinemas and art theatres that are popular with students and theatre goers. Places such as the Cambridge Arts Cinema and the ADC show West End and local productions of all genres so you are sure to find something to suite your tastes. You can visit the relevant websites to see a full listing and show times.
